Easter in Thunder Hill

Recently I received an email from Jarren discussing the Easter celebrations in Sierra Leone.  He said that the children were running everywhere burning pants that had been stuffed. Some had various pieces of clothing stuff and tied to a stick.  The children were running up to the stuffed clothing and beating it with a stick.  This has something to do with keeping the dead and their spirits restful in their graves.  Jarren remarked that he could not make the connection to Easter.  He said that he found the whole scene amusing.  Life in Freetown is never dull.
